Terrarium Plants

1 product

A terrarium is a self-contained ecosystem and enclosed environment for plants, which is frequently sealed to keep moisture in and provide the plants with a proper microclimate. Closed Terrariums and Open Terrariums are the two most common types of terrariums.

Closed Terrariums are airtight and high in humidity, making them ideal for growing emergent aquatic plants such as Anubias, Java Fern, Bolbitis, Java Moss, etc.

Open Terrariums are not air-tight and generally have lower humidity, making them ideal for growing emergent aquatic plants or bog species that do not require high humidity, such as Dwarf Hairgrass, Rotala, Ludwigia, Creeping Jenny, and so on.

Succulents and Air Plants (Tillandsia) are both drought-tolerant plants that work well in open terrariums. Many people feel that terrarium plants are good Feng Shui plants because they absorb negative energy and channel it into you and your home. It's a great option for those who don't have enough outdoor space but yet want to feel connected to nature.
